TODA conference
Well we just finished a great week at the TODA conference. We had a booth featuring the Body Beat, and two string specific tuners by Peterson: the Strobo Flip and the V-Sam. In addition, I had the great honor of presenting two rhythm clinics at the conference. I want to thank everyone that attended these clinics and a special thanks to Teresa Nguyen, Dr. Gene Dowdy and Mary Alice for presiding and participating in these clinics. You all really helped make the experience fun and informative!!!!

Beginning the Body Beat
Hello everyone,
Now that the Body Beat Metronome is out, I want to give everyone some basic beginning instructions to make your introduction to this new metronomic device is as successful as possible.
First is wearing the vibe clip - The Body Beat vibe clip is very easy to use but you must make sure to follow two basic rules -
1. Place the vibe clip near bone, preferably at the base of the spine. This is easily accomplished by simply clipping the device at the hip bone or base of the spine.
2. When putting the vibe clip on, make sure the barrel of the clip is against your body and the flat side of the clip is facing out.
If you follow these two basic rules you will feel the beat strongly and precisely.
What you feel -
The Body Beat Metronome is designed to help a musician feel the beat. This is very innovative in itself, but we decided to go one step further to help a user know where they are in a measure or rhythm pattern by placing a stronger pulse at the beginning of every measure or gouping of note divisions.
For instance, when you set the Body Beat to 2/4 time signature, the first beat of every measure will be noticeably stronger than the second beat. By creating this pulse difference, a user can easily feel the beginning of every measure.
In addition, The Body Beat has a stronger pulse at the beginning of every note division grouping. When you set the Body Beat to eighth notes, the first of every two eighth notes will feel stronger. This is designed to help a seasoned musician stay within a rhythm pattern and a beginner to learn about the various parts of a beat.
If anyone has further questions regarding the use of the Body Beat, e-mail me at cvparsons@dotmusiconline.com, and I will get back to you.

Welcome
Hello and welcome to Chris’ Corner at DOT Music. In my corner I will provide exercises, discussion and informative links relating to the Body Beat and future products we will carry. I want to make this sight a place where a musician can buy really wonderful products and various forms of training pertaining to these products.
Our premier product, the Body Beat is a personal passion of mine especially since I am the inventor of this new technology. Soon I will post free links to download a beginning curriculum called Body Beat Basics that will help everyone to use the Body Beat in very practical teaching and performing environments.
That is all for now, however, there will be new content coming.
Thanks everyone,
Chris Parsons
